PORTLAND – A 78-year-old woman collided with a TriMet MAX train while she was behind the wheel of a small car in downtown Portland Tuesday afternoon, firefighters said.

Just before 3:30 p.m., the woman was pinned in her car after she crashed with the train near Southwest Broadway and Southwest Morrison Street, according to Lt. Rich Chatman with Portland Fire & Rescue.

The woman was taken to the hospital after crews forced her car's door open.

MAX Blue and Red lies were disrupted for almost an hour.
