PORTLAND -- A downtown Portland bank was robbed by an armed man Monday.
The U.S. Bank branch, located at 410 Southwest Harrison Street, was robbed just before noon.
Witnesses told police a man armed with a handgun took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.
Officers said they detained one person matching the suspect description after contacting him on a TriMet bus at 6th Avenue and West Burnside Street, but he was released shortly afterward.
Nobody was injured during the robbery and the investigation continues.
