PORTLAND – Expect a traffic double header around the Rose Quarter Monday night as nearly 32,000 sports fans pile into the area at the tail end of rush hour.

The Trail Blazers face the San Antonio Spurs for Game 4 of the Western Conference Championship at the Moda Center at 7:30 p.m. And the Portland Winterhawks play Game 7 of their conference championship at Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m.

The Edmonton Oil Kings and the Portland Winterhawks should draw a big crowd. The 12,000 seat arena is all but sold out, with only a handful of nose-bleed seats still available.

At 7:30 p.m. nearly 20,000 fans will ignite as the Blazers start their do-or-die Game 4.

That should make for extra traffic snarls starting as early as 4 p.m. on Interstate 5, Interstate 84 and all inbound MAX lines.

So stay on your toes and plan your route. Go Blazers! Go Hawks!
