PORTLAND – Firefighters rescued a dog that fell down a 15-foot sinkhole Thursday evening at a home in Southeast Portland.
Just before 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Frito the dog fell down a hole that may have been on old well in the backyard of a home at 5120 SE 104th Avenue, said Lt. Damon Simmons with Portland Fire & Rescue.
After some tense moments, Frito was pulled from the hole with a restraint pole and rope. He was not injured in the ordeal and firefighters quickly reunited him with his owner.
The hole was then covered until it could be permanently filled.
