VANCOUVER -- A Vancouver woman went missing near Beacon Rock State Park over the weekend. Family members, friends and deputies searched for many hours until the effort was called off early Monday evening.

Daphine Christ, 45, was last seen Friday.

Her black Suzuki station wagon was found parked at Beacon Rock State Park Sunday and the search was narrowed to that area, according to Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox.

A 15-person ground crew, two K-9 teams and a Clark County marine patrol unit helped family members search for Christ Monday. The search ended just before 5 p.m., after authorities said they had exhausted all leads.

Christ works as a teaching assistant at Lake Shore Elementary, in the Vancouver School District.

Anyone who has seen Christ or knows where she is was asked to call the Skamania County Sheriff's Office (at 509-427-9490) or the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (at 360-397-2303).
