PORTLAND – Some Portland bands are taking a cue from Jack White, among others, and using social media to announce impromptu shows in public spaces.

The Dandy Warhols announced via Twitter just after 3 p.m. Wednesday that they would be performing a show an hour and a half later near Southwest 2nd Avenue and West Burnside.

Willamette Week reported the band would be performing all 13 songs from their 2000 album “Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia” in several Portland locations for the music site Into the Woods.

After Wednesday's show, the group tweeted, "Thanks to everyone who came out today for #13songs13places. We do it again tomorrow at 3:30 with 5 dif songs in 5 dif locations."
