NEWBERG, Ore. – A female bicyclist was seriously injured after she was hit by a dump truck in Newberg Friday afternoon, police said.
Around 2 p.m., the 15-year-old was hit at East Hancock Street and North Howard Street, said Capt. Chris Bolek with the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.
The teen was reportedly riding southbound through the intersection in the crosswalk. Police said she failed to yield to traffic and was hit.
The driver stopped and cooperated with police. The bicyclist was taken to Oregon Health & Sciences University. Her condition was not released.
Police did not release her name Friday afternoon.
