PORTLAND -- A customer at a Northeast Portland 7-11 was pinned after a driver went crashing through the front of the convenience store Wednesday, police said.

Just after 2 p.m., the driver confused the gas pedal with the break pedal and went careening into the store at 4715 Northeast Columbia Boulevard, police said.

Customer Andres Pasaye-Remigio, 25, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, 47-year-old Alake Patterson, was cited for driving uninsured and careless driving.  Investigators do not believe she was impaired at the time of the crash.
