PORTLAND -- A woman was killed and her husband was seriously injured in a crash into a tree on Highway 26 Tuesday afternoon.
Oregon State Police said the wreck was near the community of Manning in the Coast Range.
An eastbound 2003 Buick Century crossed the center line, went off the shoulder and was wedged into several trees.
The driver, 71, got out of the car and flagged down passing drivers. His wife, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both were wearing seat belts. It was unclear why the man drove off the road, police said.
