OREGON CITY, Ore. -- Clackamas County voters sent TriMet a clear message about the new Portland-Milwaukie light rail project.

Nearly 57 percent of voters opposed the use of county resources for the project.

County commissioners had been facing criticism over their decision to work with TriMet on the light rail line.

But the vote may not matter; TriMet is suing to force the county to fulfill its obligations to the $1.5 billion Orange Line.
