PORTLAND, Ore. -- The battle over the fate of fired Portland Police Officer Ronald Frashour will continue.
Late Thursday, the Portland City Council voted to appeal an order to rehire him.
The Portland Police Bureau fired Frashour in 2010, saying he violated city policy when he shot and killed 25-year-old Aaron Campbell during a standoff.
Frashour fought to get his job back and a state board ordered Portland Police to re-hire Frashour.
Mayor Sam Adams vowed to appeal that decision. The City Council voted Thursday to support that appeal.
"My thanks to the Portland City Council for their unanimous vote to appeal Frashour case to state court," Mayor Adams wrote in a tweet late Thursday.
