PORTLAND – A 5-year-old boy who fell out of the window of a Portland home was taken by helicopter to a hospital Friday.
Leo Krick with Portland Fire and Rescue said the boy was playing in an upstairs room of the house on NW Ash Court when he fell nearly 16 feet onto the concrete below.
"I think it tugs at all of us," said Krick. "All we can do is hope for the best."
He was seriously injured and taken by LifeFlight to the hospital. The boy suffered head injuries and was in critical condition, firefighters said.
In the past week, two children in Clackamas County fell out of windows in separate instances. Neither was seriously injured.
