Burglar climbs in UP student’s window, steals car

PORTLAND -- A burglar snuck into the home of a University of Portland student on Thursday and stole the student’s car keys, then made off with the car.

The break-in happened in the University Park neighborhood in North Portland, between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. The burglar climbed in through an unlocked window, according to University of Portland staff.

The burglar also stole a backpack, a laptop.

The university reminded its students and neighbors to be vigilant during the warm weather.
