HILLSBORO, Ore -- Not very often will you find a tranquil spot at an auto body shop.  The owner of Brian's Auto Repair and Services in Hillsboro set up a peaceful area and decorated it with statues of Buddha.

"Sometimes you see it sitting on the floor or sitting on the table with the big stomach," said Minh Dao who owns many Asian stores.

Dao believes Buddha will bring the business good luck, but sadly he is dealing with some misfortune.  Sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, somebody cut through an outer fence and stole six Buddha statues.

"The way he cut it made me a little big angry," said Dao.

Dao and his colleagues believe a guy who visited the shop early Wednesday is the one who stole the statues.  Dao said he was inquiring about them.  Officers have not identified the man as a suspect.

"The officer investigating will look at that," said Mike Rouches with the Hillsboro Police Department.

Anyone with information about the Buddhas was asked to call police.
