Boy's dad a leader in Clackamas community

MOSIER, Ore. -- The driver whose son died after their pickup truck slid into the Columbia River Monday afternoon is well-known in the Clackamas community.

John Arntson is a social studies teacher at Clackamas High School and also the head coach for the Cavaliers baseball team for the past 17 years.

In addition, he has worked as the varsity defensive coordinator for the high school football team for the past 8 years.

John's 7-year-old son, Jacob died after their truck slid into the river Monday afternoon.  John survived and was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Little Jacob is survived by his dad, his mom, Tracy and his older sister, Rylee.
