MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Deputies are looking for the public’s help in identifying a body found on the banks of the Willamette River after having been in the water for six months to two years.
On April 19, the body of a 20- to 30-year-old man washed up on the banks of the river in Yamhill County, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office.
Due to the state of decomposition it was hard to identify the man. Forensic anthropologists from the state medical examiner’s office estimated the man could have been in the water for up to two years. He was 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-8 and either Hispanic or a mix of Caucasian and Hispanic, according to deputies.
Deputies released a sketch Tuesday of what the man may have looked like. The victim also had a bandage around his right leg indicating a possible injury or a chronic condition, deputies said.
Anyone with information was asked to call at 503-434-7508.
