BEAVERTON, Ore. – A 6th grader at a Beaverton middle school was suspended Tuesday after sending out an online survey asking which of 17 specific students should be killed, an official with the Beaverton School District told KGW Wednesday.

The student at Meadow Park Middle School reportedly sent the list out to other students, which named 17 students at the school. Officials learned about the survey circulating online over the weekend. They notified all the families at the school, including those of the students on the list.

Officials said they will take disciplinary action against the student once a risk assessment is done with the school psychologist, said Maureen Wheeler with the Beaverton School District.

“We do then put a safety plan into place with the student, family and staff. We are well aware of this youngster,” Wheeler said. “We want people to report things when they see things. We had to take it seriously.”
