AURORA, Ore. – A bomb scare closed an Aurora truck stop Saturday night.

A suspicious device was found at the TA Truck Stop behind the Country Pride Restaurant at 21856 Bents Road NE around 8 p.m., said Sgt. Chris Baldridge of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police evacuated the area and a bomb squad investigated the device.

Around 10:45 p.m., the bomb squad determined the device to be a hoax and the truck stop was reopened.

Deputies were continuing to investigate who put the device behind the business, Baldridge said.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call 503-588-5032.
