LONGVIEW, Wash. – A standoff with an armed woman barricaded inside a Longview business ended after nearly five hours Tuesday evening.

The woman was safely taken into custody around 9:15 p.m. after walking into the business at 4:30 with a gun, and telling employees she was" taking herself hostage," according to Longview Police.

Some employees immediately left Carl's Towing in the 1100 block of Vandercook Way. Officials were able to get the remaining employees safely of the building, according to Captain Robert Huhta of Longview police.

A SWAT team and negotiators assisted in bringing the standoff to a peaceful end.
