SHERWOOD, Ore. – Police are searching for a man who robbed a U.S. Bank in Sherwood Wednesday at gunpoint. The suspect is believed to be the same person who also robbed a bank in Tualatin on Sept. 5.
The suspect robbed the U.S. Bank at 1620 Mohawk Blvd. in Sherwood Wednesday morning, according to Sherwood police.
The man was holding what appeared to be a long gun wrapped in a blanket when he approached the teller’s desk and demanded cash. He ran away with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
The suspect matches the description of the man wanted in a similar bank robbery on Sept. 5 at the Bank of the West branch in Tualatin, Ore.
The suspect was described as a middle-aged white man, around 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He was wearing a green-and-white plaid jacket with a gray hood and mirrored sunglasses during both robberies.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Springfield Police Department and Tualatin police were investigating the crimes.
Anyone with information about the robberies was asked to contact the FBI at 503-224-4181.
