PORTLAND -- Alaska Airlines flight 619 from Las Vegas to Portland was diverted to Yakima Thursday night due to equipment failure and foggy weather.
A piece of equipment necessary for landing in foggy conditions went out during the flight, according to an Alaska representative.
Due to heavy fog in both Portland and Seattle, the plane had to land in Yakima.
The 93 passengers boarded another plane Friday, which was expected to land at Portland International Airport at 9:45 a.m.
Most of the passengers slept on the plane or went into the Yakima airport terminal, where the airline provided coffee and donuts, the spokesperson said.
