Bridge Pedal gives riders unimpeded access to the ten bridges, most of which were closed to drivers in at least one direction Sunday morning. Even the Interstate 5 construction that has caused some recent weekend delays was postponed during the annual event.

An exact count was not available, due to a high number of Sunday morning registrations, but organizers estimate about 19,000 people took part in Bridge Pedal's various rides and walks, according to Providence spokeswoman Jean Powell Marks.
