PORTLAND -- Sunny skies--or mostly sunny skies--and high temperatures in the 80s were expected for the rest of the week, KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard said.

"In fact, the pattern looks very similar to last week with highs approaching 90 degrees for much of the area," he said Monday morning. "Portland should top out at around 89° with mostly sunny and hazy skies at times."

He said the area likely would not reach the record temperatures of 93 degrees Monday or 92 degrees Tuesday. The normal temperature for this week at Portland International Airport is about 75 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies and lower temperatures will start to roll in over the weekend, as fall officially begins Saturday.
