OAKRIDGE, Ore. – Six people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in an icy tunnel on Highway 58 near Oakridge Friday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., Tanya Dawes, 41, of Klamath Falls lost control of her SUV in the tunnel and collided into a wall, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.

Dawes then collided with 21-year-old Neil Hubler-Dayton of Eugene who was driving eastbound in the tunnel. Then, Jesse Benson, 44, of Lebanon spun out in the tunnel while trying to stop and collided with a commercial truck driven by 59-year-old Jerry Hatton of Arizona.

Benson was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. His wife and three kids were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Hatton was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and released.
