SHERWOOD, Ore. -- A 3-year-old boy was hospitalized after falling from a second story window of a Sherwood home just after noon Tuesday, fire officials said.
An off-duty firefighter, who was in the area when the child fell, responded to the emergency. He was performing first aid by the time crews arrived to the home, in the 17300 block of Southwest Timber Crossing Lane, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
The boy was flown by helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries.
Sherwood police were investigating the incident.
