MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Snohomish County officials have ended an Amber Alert in effect for a baby girl born in Mill Creek Friday morning who was abducted by the baby's mother. The infant is suffering from a life-threatening medical condition and is in need of medical attention.
The newborn, Annabelle Martini, was taken by Jaime Martini, a 20-year-old Native American female with blonde hair and brown eyes. She is described as 5'3" tall and weighing 135 pounds. She was last seen Friday morning at The Mill at Mill Creek apartment complex in the 1100 block of Mill Creek Boulevard.
The two may have been traveling in white 2001 BMW 330CI with Washington license AJD7417 and an aftermarket carbon fiber hood. Police were also looking for a 1993 dark green Lexus SC400 with Washington plate 871WJF.
Mill Creek police say Martini delivered the baby around 6:30 a.m. Friday at the Mill Creek apartment complex with the help of a midwife. The midwife called 911 to report the baby was having difficulty breathing and was not responsive. Police were dispatching an aid car but canceled it when Jaimie Martini said she was taking the baby to a hospital at the insistence of the midwife. However, she and the baby have not checked in at any area hospitals.
Police believe Jamie Martini's aunt may have picked up her and the baby up from the apartment complex. Police are in contact with the aunt, but she is not cooperating with them.
Police say Martini does not live at the Mill Creek apartment where she gave birth. Officials have not said whose residence it is.
