PORTLAND – Two women were sexually assaulted and severely beaten by two men just a few hours apart in Southeast Portland and police worry there could be more victims who are afraid to come forward.
The attacks happened on June 18 along Southeast 82nd Avenue and Powell Boulevard. Officers believe Bradley Ritmiller, 21, and Bobby Alsup III, 22, worked together in the attacks. Both were arrested a few days later.
“One victim, a 44-year-old female, was admitted to a Portland hospital with numerous facial and chest injuries suffered during the sexual assault,” said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau. “The second victim, a 27-year-old female, was sexually assaulted then beaten with a metal wrench which caused head, wrist and hand injuries.”
The victims were transients who frequent 82nd Avenue, Simpson said.
“Detectives are concerned that there may be additional victims of sexual violence and would like to hear from anyone with information about these cases or suspects,” Simpson said.
The suspects were indicted by a grand jury this week on several charges, including sodomy, rape, kidnapping, and assault.
Anyone with information about this case or any other victims was urged to contact detective Cory Stenzel at (503) 823-0453 or send him an email.
