COQUILLE, Ore. -- Two boys staying overnight with their grandmother have died in a Coos County trailer fire.
District Attorney R. Paul Frasier says the grandmother escaped Wednesday morning, and neighbors pulled out a third grandson before flames got too intense for rescue work.
Frasier says arson investigators were called in because there were fatalities and, in his words, "in an abundance of caution." He said the investigation isn't finished.
The fire broke out in a Coquille RV park shortly after 1 a.m. Frasier identified the victims as 13-year-old Christopher Thorp and 8-year-old Grayson Thorp of Roseburg.
Preliminary tests show smoke inhalation.
The third boy is Caden Teddleton of Coquille. He was hospitalized in critical condition with burns and smoke inhalation.
The grandmother, 59-year-old Virginia Jennings, was treated and released.
