SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A man accused of the shooting a 19-year-old to death last May in Woodburn changed his plea Wednesday to no contest.

The Statesman Journal reports (http://is.gd/bqLMOD ) 20-year-old Erasmo Emilio Lopez, Jr., will be sentenced Feb. 15.

A co-defendant, 21-year-old Javier Ivan Sanchez-Perez, is scheduled for trial Jan. 17 in Salem on murder and attempted murder charges in the death of Tomas Montez-Sanchez.

Police said he was with two brothers when they were approached by a group looking to brawl at a nearby park. The brothers turned down the fight, but the group later returned and the shots were fired.
