REDMOND, Ore. (AP) — A high-speed chase of a stolen car ended with a search at a Redmond motel, but police managed to flush out the suspect.

KTVZ-TV reports (http://is.gd/ZiVYSL ) that officers were conducting a room-by-room search of the Best Western Plus Rama Inn when a flushing toiled helped give away the suspect's location.

The suspect had reportedly been driving a car stolen from California on Highway 97 at speeds topping 100 mph Sunday morning.

More than a dozen police cars from Redmond police, Deschutes County sheriff's deputies and Oregon State Police soon surrounded the motel area, along with crime scene tape, and many officers had their guns drawn.

About 15 of the motel's 74 rooms were registered to guests Sunday morning, and police quickly checked on them by phone, finding only a few rooms occupied.
