MAPLETON – One woman died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 126 that happened Saturday afternoon, police said.

Around 1:30 p.m., 32-year-old Karlie Hobson from Eugene was driving a sport utility vehicle westbound near milepost 9. Her car crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound pickup pulling a trailer.

Hobson was pronounced dead at the scene, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police. She was wearing a seat belt.

The two occupants of the pickup, Zachary Roe and Jacob Blankenbaker, both 21, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Hastings said. Both men are from Vancouver, Wash. and were wearing seat belts.

Eastbound lanes on Highway 126 were estimated to be closed four to five hours. .
