OLYMPIA – Twelve Washington residents won $5,000 for matching four numbers and the Mega Ball in the Mega Millions lottery Tuesday night.
The Mega Millions jackpot was for $636 million, the second largest jackpot in United States history. Someone from California and another person from Georgia matched all the numbers, taking home the big bucks.
The $5,000 tickets in Washington were purchased in Port Orchard, Seattle, Grandview, Kent, Pullman, Redmond, Puyallup, Custer, Marysville and Everett.
Their odds of winning were 1 in 740,000.
The next Mega Millions drawing will take place this Friday, December 20, at 8:00 p.m. for $15 million.
