PORTLAND -- Some 158 wineries in the scenic Willamette Valley will open their doors for special wine tastings, food pairings and new releases on Memorial Day Weekend.
This is just one of the many events going on this weekend - for a full calendar, click on the Weekend Events Guide.
The 20th annual event promises to be as diverse in taste as Oregon’s picturesque landscape.
“Many wineries are only open to the public this weekend, offering a rare chance at sampling small-batch wines or chit-chatting with winemakers. Also, because the Willamette Valley is so large and diverse, there are many interesting wine tasting routes for visitors to consider,” said Sue Horstmann, Executive Director of the Willamette Valley Wineries Association.
For a complete listing of wineries open during Memorial Weekend and those donating proceeds to Ecotrust, along with details about special events and individual tasting fees, visit the Willamette Wines Website and request a touring map and guide.
Nearly 50 participating wineries will also use the opportunity to donate a portion of their weekend’s proceeds to Ecotrust’s quest towards healthy lunchrooms through its celebrated Farm to School Program.
