VANCOUVER -- Police are hunting for a suspect who kidnapped, robbed and shot a Portland man before stealing his car and fleeing.
The victim managed to walk about a mile through the forest for help, covered in blood, until he found some people who were able to come to his assistance near Kadow's Marina in Vancouver. Surveillance video from the marina shows the man staggering across the street and then pleading for help.

Officers were dispatched about 4:30 a.m. to the marina at 10612 NW Lower River Road after several 911 calls reporting that a man had been injured, police spokesperson Kim Kapp said.
One witness told KGW the man was covered in blood and said he'd been shot four times. Another witness said he was frantically shouting for someone to call 911 and yelling that he had a 10-year-old daughter.
Arriving officers found the unidentified man on the dock with at least one gunshot wound.
Police have not released the victim's name, only said that he is 47 years old and from Oregon.
Investigators said he told them he went to east Vancouver, where he was kidnapped. Then, the suspect took him to Vancouver Lake Park where he robbed and shot him before stealing his car.
The suspect fled in the victim's 2012 black Nissan Sentra. It has a temporary plate in the window and license plate frames from Beaverton Nissan.
The victim walked from the park, through a wilderness area and toward the marina where he sought help, Kapp said.
Anyone with information was asked to call Vancouver Police. Detectives believe there is no further threat to the public from this incident.
The victim was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. He was expected to recover.
