OATFIELD, Ore. -- A driver was injured after pulling out in front of a school bus and causing a crash Wednesday morning, police said.

The North Clackamas School District bus was traveling north on Southeast Oatfield Road when the driver of a Ford Contour pulled onto the roadway, according to Sgt. Adam Phillips of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

"The bus driver saw the car stop, then pull out in front of him, but was unable to stop in time before the collision," Phillips said.

The driver and three children on the bus were not injured. The driver of the Ford was taken by ambulance to nearby hospital. The extent of his injuries was not known.

His vehicle was towed from the scene. The roadway was closed for about an hour.
