IDANHA, Ore. -- One man died and five others went to the hospital after a three car crash on Oregon 22 east of the Cascade foothills town of Idanha.

Robert L. Randis, 69, of Terreboone, died at the scene, according to Oregon State Police.

The 4:28 p.m. accident unfolded when police said a Jeep Grand Cherokee drivin by Dorian J. Dolinajec, 23, of Portland, pulled across the centerline westbound as if to pass. He sideswiped a 2004 Hyundai driven by Randis.

Dolijanec's Jeep went airborne and crashed into an eastbound 2006 Ford pickup driven by Jessie E. Alway, 61 of Bend.

Passengers in Randis' car, Beverly J. Randis, 67, Nicole Bowerman, 10, of Sweet Home and Karlie J. Callin, 13, of Sweet Home, were taken to Santiam Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Dolinajec was flown to Samaritan Albany General hospital with serious injuries. Alway was taken to Samaritan with minor injuries.

Everyone was wearing seat belts. The highway was blocked for about an hour then opened to one lane.
