SANDY, Ore. – A Hood River man died and three others were injured in a home construction accident near Sandy Friday afternoon.

Construction workers from Stalcup Roofing and Construction were building a home at 45440 SE Jadrny Road when 13 trusses collapsed on the home, said Marcus Mendoza with Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Dewayne Douglas Smith, 33, of Hood River died at the scene. The death was ruled as accidental, officials said.

Roger Cauich-Cante, 41, of Estacada; Joseph Hall, 18, of Hood River and Idel Uchable of Estacada were injured in the accident. They were taken to area hospitals and treated for their injuries.
