The Hwy. 26 road rage shooting suspect

The December 10th shooting in the Zig Zag area seriously wounded both victims – Clackamas County firefighter Joshua Gehrke, who was off-duty at the time, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Langley.

The two men were driving home from Government Camp with Gehrke's nine-year-old son and the son's friend after a family snowboarding trip when the driver of another car started tailgating them.

More: Unknown whether firefighter will be able to work again

Both cars pulled over and Gehrke and Langley approached the tailgater, who shot them and drove off.

Investigators said they need the public's help to solve the case. Anyone with information regarding a person matching the composite drawing known to be in the Mt. Hood area on December 10 at approximately 10 p.m. is asked to call police at 800-452-7888.

Investigators also released a photo of what the suspect's car probably looked like.

Police believe the suspect's car may have been similar to this one.

"An area resident contacted Oregon State Police and said he drove by the scene shortly after the victims' van and another vehicle were stopped on the westbound shoulder of Highway 26 east of E. Lolo Pass Road," said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police. "The witness described the vehicle of interest behind the victims' van as a dark green, early 2000-model Honda Civic. At this time it is not known if the vehicle was a two or four door model."
