BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A major collision closed Highway 26 into Portland near Beaverton during the Friday morning commute.
Highway 26 going eastbound at Cornell Road and Murray Boulevard was shut down after a two car accident.
Beaverton police told Newschannel 8 around 3:30 a.m. a car slammed in another vehicle parked on the side of the highway.

A man driving a Jetta slammed into a Mazda coupe that was parked on the side of the highway.
A woman was ejected from the coupe. Officials said a Washington County Sheriff's deputy happened to be driving by at the time. He and a couple of civilians actually pushed the coupe over on it's side to help get the woman out of the coupe.
"The civilians went above and beyond. The officers, we're trained to deal with this kind of stuff, but it was great timing why to be there when he was," said Detective Pam Yassilino with Beaverton Police Department.
Both drivers, who police said were in their early 20s, were taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital.
The woman suffered major injuries, including internal bleeding, head, hip, and leg injuries. The other driver had possible back injuries.
Paramedics said a "language barrier" initially hindered help to the Jetta driver.
A crash analysis team was on the scene to reconsruct the accident, prompting the road closures.
Authorities said commuters should add at least 30 minutes to an hour to commute times into Portland from the Beaverton area.
Alternative routes recommended into town included Baseline Road in Hillsboro or the TV Highway, according to KGW Traffic reporter Michael Convery.
Police were investigating the cause of the accident and the highway reopened about 8:15 a.m.
