BANKS, Ore. -- After an all-night search, a missing 12-year-old boy from Banks was found safe walking toward his home.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies spent much of Monday night and Tuesday morning looking for Christopher Scorcio.
Authorities told Newschannel 8 the boy got into a fight with his parents and walked out of his home Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. His family reported him missing when he failed to return home by nightfall. They were worried about his safety because he was last seen wearing only a white T-shirt and green shorts and didn't have a jacket on.
Then, around 8 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy spotted the boy walking toward his rural home. Authorities said Christopher was wet but not hypothermic. He told the deputy he had spent the night in a trailer near his home and "hid" even when he heard searchers calling his name.
Search teams were out with dogs and tried to track down the boy. They searched rural fields and box cars on trains, but had not found the boy until he was spotted walking home alone.
