Salem police standoff with man threatening to kill his mother

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police were in the midst of a standoff with a man in Salem Friday afternoon.

An eyewitness said Salem police were in the midst of a standoff Friday.
A man who claimed to be an eyewitness said a neighbor threatened to shoot his mother with a rifle.
Robin Marshburn, the eyewitness, called 911.
When police arrived at the residence, in the 2100 block of Walker Road NE, the man refused to come out of his house.
Other Salem residents reported at least 10 police squad cars blocking off a quarter-mile stretch of Walker Road.
