LYONS, Ore. -- The city administrator in the small town of Lyons, outside Salem, is accused of furnishing alcohol to minors and hosting a party in which several teens, some as young as 13, reportedly got drunk.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller said city administrator Mary Martha Mitchell, 49, and her husband, Daniel Mitchell, 44, were arrested on two counts of providing alcohol to minors and lodged in jail.

He went on to explain that an anonymous letter was sent to the sheriff’s office from a concerned citizen that said Mitchell allowed several teenagers to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana during the party at her home in August of 2008. And “the letter indicated this was not the first time this type of party was allowed at the Mitchell home,” Mueller said.

Investigators were asking that anyone with information about the alleged party contact Detective Steve Looney at the Linn County Sheriff's Office at 541-967-3950.
