PORTLAND -- Portland Police investigating a homicide in Southeast Portland said they have identified the victim.

Watch KGW report

Officers said they found 35-year-old Abel Delgado-Morales' body over the weekend inside an apartment near the intersection of 160th and Stark. On Monday, investigators confirmed that he had died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots just after 3:00 Sunday morning.

When police arrived, they found the body of a man in his late twenties to early thirties inside one of the units.

The owner of the apartment complex tells KGW a woman lives in that unit and that the victim was not a resident.

But he acknowledged there had been problems with the unit in the past.

Over the last couple of months there’s been increased traffic.

I was getting ready to ask the woman to move,” said Kurt Albright, owner of Patia’s Corner Apartment Complex.

For nearby neighbors, the overnight shooting rattles nerves already shaken.

Less than two weeks ago a 37-year-old woman was found murdered behind a church just around the corner from Sunday's crime scene.

The neighborhood is just getting really bad,” explained Ronda Jessie who lives across the street from Patia’s Corner.

Police say other than their proximity, there is nothing to link the two murders together.

At this point there's nothing to suggest there's nothing about the manner of death that’s consistent between the two,” said Sgt. Brian Schmautz with the Portland Police Bureau.

Investigators say they continue to question witnesses and follow leads.

But as of yet they don't have a suspect in either case.

Detectives are not yet releasing the identity of the victim in Sunday's homicide.

They're waiting for autopsy results.

Meantime, they encourage anyone with any information about either murder to call Portland Police.
