Beaverton scout leader arrested in 'Net sex sting

BEAVERTON -- A Boy Scout troop leader is facing a series of internet sex charges.
Federal agents said James Reyes, of Beaverton, tried to lure a 15-year-old girl across the country to meet him for sex.
The 45-year old was wearing his Boy Scout uniform when officers arrested him at PDX, agents said.
Investigators said Reyes had been communicating with the girl from Massachusetts via the Internet and phone. They are also distant relatives.
According to court papers, Reyes molested the girl and her sister five years ago, but was never charged. After the victim went to police, an undercover detective posed as the 15-year old, police said.
Court papers suggested Reyes sent nude photos of himself and child pornography over the Internet. And federal agents said he bought a plane ticket for the girl, promising her sex.
Neighbors described Reyes as a real family guy, with a wife and kids.
