Tigard man in court accused of Craigslist rapes
08:59 PM PST on Monday, November 19, 2007
TIGARD – A man accused of luring women to his Tigard home via Craigslist and other Web sites and raping them appeared in a Washington County court on Monday afternoon.
Police arrested 52-year-old Ronald M. Leistiko on Friday after serving a search warrant at 12320 SW 128th Ave. in Tigard. The investigation stemmed from reports of numerous women being sexually assaulted at his home.
Leistiko allegedly answered ads on Craigslist along with other Internet sites, which offered services such as lingerie modeling and escort service.
Police believe the victims ranged in age from 14 to 35 and think there maybe dozens more victims. But investigators said the victims may fear they would also be charged.
Leistiko was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges including but not limited to rape, kidnapping, prostitution, sex abuse, menacing and strangulation.
Investigators speculate there may be other unreported crimes which occurred at Leistiko’s Tigard home.
Anyone who may have information or possible involvement is urged to call 503-823-0697 or 503-823-0424.
