A man was injured late Friday after his car slammed into the Burnside tunnel in Portland’s west hills.

The incident happened just before 10:30p Friday night.

The man was reportedly headed eastbound on Burnside when his car hit the wall on the west end of the tunnel.

Police on scene said that speed was a factor in the crash and were working to determine if alcohol was involved as well.

The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There was no word on his condition.
