PORTLAND, Ore. -- Two young adults were arrested Wednesday, accused of dealing marijuana to Wilson high School students from their apartment across the street.

Six weeks ago police got a tip after a neighbor noticed groups of kids making frequent and quick visits to the Hillsdale Heights apartments on the 6100 block of Southwest 18th Drive

Officers executed a search warrant and said they found marijuana, money, and drug manufacturing items.

“I'd always walk by there and you could smell a pungent odor that smelled like marijuana to me,” neighbor Shane Muir said.

The neighbor who tipped police said she was seeing a lot of kids going by the apartment during lunch hour and after school.

Investigators staked out the scene and said they saw dozens of students coming and going.

“Even when we were inside conducting our search, a knock came at the door, we answered, and it was a teenager with money in hand, ready to purchase marijuana,” Portland officer Brian Hughes said.

Police arrested 19 year olds Madina Ahadi (pictured L) and Journey Jarel Newson (pictured R) on one count of distributing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
