Medford businessman arrested in Portland for online sexual corruption

OREGON CITY, Ore. -- A 47-year-old Medford man was arrested while trying to lure two young girls into meeting with him, after he'd been communicating with them online, police said.

The sheriff's office says Kelly Ray Rasmussen was booked on charges of online sexual corruption of a minor and luring a minor.
Deputies say they believe he began communicating online with a 13-year-old girl in July and an 11-year-old girl in September.
They say he was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Clackamas County "while he was poised to meet with his 13-year-old female victim."
Investigators say that he had traveled to Portland and had taken steps to meet with the 11-year-old on Monday.
Rasmussen owned and operate a travel business in the Medford area, and was allegedly in Portland, conducting business when the Intercept arrest occurred, investigators said.
Bail was set at $150,000.
Rasmussen will be arraigned at 3 p.m. in the Clackamas County Circuit Court, in Oregon City.
