Oregon teacher loses license over misconduct charge
11:11 AM PDT on Friday, October 17, 2008
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) -- A former Henley High School teacher has pleaded guilty to official misconduct and will forfeit his teaching license. Jason Paul Stubbs, 27, pleaded guilty to the misconduct charge while additional charges of sex abuse and harassment were dismissed.
Klamath County District Attorney Ed Caleb said Stubbs was sentenced to 180 months probation, 80 hours of public service and ordered to comply with state agreements regarding his children.
He also was ordered to forfeit his teaching license. Stubbs admitted to being in a classroom alone with a student with the door closed, which was against policy. The female involved said Stubbs touched her buttock and asked her what she would do to get her confiscated cell phone back. She did not have to testify.
