CORNELIUS, Ore. -- A man police think has smuggled illegal immigrants into Oregon was wanted for raping a 15-year-old girl, police said Tuesday.

Washington County deputies said Jose Fransisco-Fransisco was wanted for rape and sex abuse after attacking a 15-year-old girl at a farm labor camp in Cornelius in June. The victim said Francisco told her he would kill her.

Deputies also said Francisco admitted the crime during several phone calls while in jail on another charge.

Francisco Francisco is from Guatemala and speaks a dialect known as Akateko as well as Spanish, investigators said. He’s been known to smuggle people into Oregon from Guatemala, according to police.

Anyone with information was asked to call 9-1-1 right away.
